Round 1 of the SA national championship held at Mandalay Raceway in Pietermaritzburg is done and dusted. Zwartkops RC-X track owner Brendon Van Staden aka Uncle B had the following to say about his experience at one of his favorite tracks in SA! The weekend started off with a bit of a delay due to the rain that was out of the hosts control so practice was a bit shorter for us, all fun was made up in the remaining two days though. After 4 rounds of qualifying I was set to start off in P4 for the 45min Truggy main race. This was one of the best truggy races I ever had.. surrounded by team mates going for gold and the locals best pushing for the win.. The start was good and I managed to steer clear of trouble, racing was tight and I was pushing from the start I managed to get up into second place from around the half way mark. There was pressure from behind but managed to keep it there to the end.
